We bootstrapped Benitago profitably for 5 years, growing 100% YoY, going from building our first consumer products in our college dorms to becoming one of the best e-commerce operators in the world. We’re headquartered in New York City, in full hypergrowth, reaching millions of customers and now also backed by the world’s leading venture capital investors.

We’re looking for a Head of Marketplaces to join our dynamic 95+ people team. As Head of Marketplaces, you will build out Benitago’s multi-channel sales strategy from the ground up, entering dozens of new marketplaces and geographies, ensuring significant revenue and profit growth. You will recruit and lead a team of 7-10 E-Commerce Analysts within the first 6-9 months to implement the go-to-market strategies you identify and to execute the different sales channels with excellence. 

Amongst many exciting challenges, you will:

  • Develop a go-to-market strategy for Benitago's brand portfolio for online (and offline) marketplaces, in both domestic and international markets (across North America,, Europe, Asia, and Latin America)

  • Prioritize and develop go-to-market plans for each marketplace, and hands-on implement the individual market launches

  • Lead the integration of new marketplaces into the existing operations, marketing and finance teams and infrastructure

  • Build and lead a team of 7-10 E-Commerce Analysts in the first 6-9 months to drive revenue and profit growth in the respective channels, as well as continuous expansion to new marketplaces and geographies

  • Leverage online software (Sellbrite, ChannelAdvisor, ListingMirror) to execute product catalog changes and optimizations at scale

  • Together with the E-Commerce Analysts your recruit, create fundamental marketing and operational excellence processes for each new sales channel to ensure sales and profit growth

  • Work closely with the finance team to create a multi-channel reporting infrastructure (PowerBI, Looker) to enable fast, data-driven decision making across all sales channels

  • Manage overall advertising spend and advertising strategy across all marketplaces

Job requirements

Do you have what it takes?

  • Bachelor’s degree, technical/STEM studies preferred

  • 3+ years of experience at a top-tier strategy consulting firm, top-tier investment bank, or at a VC/PE fund

  • 1-2+ years of experience at a venture-backed start-up in a marketing, strategy, or operations role

  • E-commerce experience is not required (training will be provided)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • High level of attention to detail and ability to manage 20+ projects simultaneously

  • Ability to plan, prioritize and problem solve in a fast-paced environment
