We believe that the big conglomerates are outdated in our new ecommerce world and don’t know how to serve consumers online. We can do better. And Amazon is our platform to do so.
We’re on a mission to become the #1 largest seller on Amazon. We achieve this by building iconic brands in-house and by acquiring other strategic brands.
We're a young and dynamic ~40 people team, and we're looking for our CFO to join the rocketship. We're a results-driven, high energy and high pace entrepreneurial company. Our goal is to acquire 5+ Amazon 3P sellers (each with $2-3m+ annual net revenues) per month and launch 20+ SKUs per month through our in-house brands.
As a CFO, you will be reporting directly to the co-founder. Your main outcomes over the first 6-12 months (and ongoing thereafter) will be:
Manage & Grow Financial Team: Manage our Financial Team of remote Financial Controllers, Accountants, Bookkeepers, VAT representatives, tax experts and more.
Build for Scale: Develop, document, train and optimize company-widel financial systems on our multiple entities in the US and UK (currently using Xero + Dear, but we move to ERP on your discretion). Ensure correct stock accounting practices, compliant intercompany invoicing and reconciliation practices.
Standardize Reporting: Standardize KPI reporting, consolidated corporate accounts, P&Ls (per brand, market, and products), stakeholder reporting (lenders, equity investors), board reporting, and more.
Manage Lenders: Manage key relationships with 8-figure lenders, both institutional and private. Sign off on reporting and answer queries from lenders.
Raise Debt: Constantly raise debt as we continue to grow. Continue to expand our current debt facilities, constantly bidding with new lenders and pushing for higher credit limits, while keeping the company at safe debt ratios.
Decrease WACC/Cost of Debt: Constantly negotiate debt providers down, refinance expensive debt with cheaper institutional or bank debt, and never stop shopping around lenders to bid on each other.
Manage Taxes: Sign off and take responsibility on all tax payments (corporate, sales tax, VAT, etc.), hire teams to pursue different tax incentives in US, UK, 7+ EU countries.
Cost Cut: Roll out constant zero-based budgeting/cost cutting initiatives. Determine and track ROI of every expense across company profit centers.
Allocate Capital: Allocate working capital to Head of Supply chain by brand to ensure high TOR and low Out of Stock rates. Given capital constraints or cost of capital, maximize absolute or relative ROC.
Sign Off on Acquisitions: Participate in investment decisions on all acquisitions along with both co-founders. Sign off on due diligence on every company we bring on board. Our target is to acquire 10+ brands per month.
- 3-5+ years of experience managing $100M+ financial systems, preferably at an e-commerce company.
- Experience with both GAAP and IFRS
- Experience with European VAT
- Extensive ERP or Xero experience
- Extensive stock accounting experience (FIFO, landed cost)
- Extensive Excel experience (incl. pivot tables)
- Experience with Amazon reporting and Amazon Seller Central
- Multi-currency and foreign exchange experience (hedging, valuation issues, etc.)
- Big 4 work experience
